Brandon's Thoughts: A lot of people will argue how important ratings are today - smokers seem to be overwhelmed with reviews and ratings. That being said, I think we can all agree that the Cigar Aficionado #1 spot is still pretty special. The Encore achieved that in 2018 and has been a workhorse in our humidor ever since. I find it interesting that Ernesto went with all Nicaraguan tobacco for the Encore. This is unique for a Dominican cigar maker know for using primarily Dominican tobaccos - but it seems to have worked out well for him. It's a medium+ strength cigar with flavors of baking spices, cedar and a hint of sweetness. If you have never tried this former #1 cigar, do yourself a favor and see what all the hype is about.
