Frequently Asked Questions

What does the LFD Andalusian Bull taste like?
Leather, black pepper, and caramel dominate the wide foot section. As the taper narrows toward the head, the profile shifts toward hickory, subtle sweetness, and spice with a dry, complex finish. The evolving draw resistance from the Salomón shape produces genuinely different phases as you smoke.
Why did the Andalusian Bull win #1 Cigar of the Year?
Cigar Aficionado scored the Andalusian Bull 96 points and named it the #1 Cigar of the Year for 2016. The combination of the antique Salomón shape, the Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper over all-Dominican filler, and the balanced full-strength profile set it apart from everything else that year.
What makes the shape special?
The Andalusian Bull is a Salomón — a figurado that starts at 64 ring gauge at the foot and tapers to 54 at the head. Litto Gomez based the shape on an antique mold he found in Belgium. It’s one of the most difficult shapes to roll correctly, which is why only two master rollers at LFD’s factory produce it.
What does Andalusian mean and why that name?
Andalusia is the southernmost region of Spain — where Litto Gomez was born. The band uses the Andalusian flag’s emerald green, a matador silhouette, and text in a font based on Pablo Picasso’s handwriting. Picasso was from Andalusia and was known for painting bulls.
How strong is the LFD Andalusian Bull?
Full. The Dominican Criollo ’98 and Pelo d’Oro filler are powerful tobaccos, and the Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper adds spice and complexity. It builds through the smoke. Not a beginner cigar.
Why is the Andalusian Bull so hard to find?
Two reasons: limited production and sustained demand since the 2016 Cigar Aficionado award. Only two master rollers at Tabacalera La Flor are trusted to roll it. When Renegade has it in stock, it goes fast.
Is the Andalusian Bull a limited edition?
Yes. It’s limited production — not a standard catalog release with consistent availability. Check stock before planning around it.
What should I pair with the LFD Andalusian Bull?
Something refined. A single malt scotch, an aged rum, or a high-proof bourbon all work. The leather, pepper, and caramel in the blend need a pairing with complexity and weight — a long smoke this quality deserves an equally considered drink.
