La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Natural

La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Natural is the spice-forward counterpart to the Maduro — same double-ligero Dominican core, different wrapper, different profile. Where the Maduro runs dark and sweet, the Natural takes the Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper route: leather, black pepper, cedar, and a dry, bold finish that stays sharp from first light to the last inch.

Ligero is the tobacco grown at the top of the plant — the leaves that get the most direct sunlight, ferment the longest, and produce the most strength and flavor. LFD packs twice the standard amount into this blend. The Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper adds a woody, earthy complexity that amplifies the pepper rather than softening it. The Dominican binder and filler from the Gomez farms complete the profile with dark earth and the dense, chewy body the Double Ligero line is known for.

The Natural is the drier, sharper expression of the two. There’s a hit of spice from the first draw that doesn’t let up — black pepper, mesquite, leather, and coffee bean that build through the midpoint and finish long. No sweetness, no dark fruit — this is a straight-ahead full-strength Dominican power smoke.

Natural vs. Maduro

Both versions use the same double-ligero Dominican core. The Natural uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper — spicier, drier, more pepper-forward. The Maduro uses Connecticut Broadleaf — richer, darker, with cocoa sweetness and black cherry. If you want the spice and the edge, Natural. Choosing Your Size

DL-600 — Shorter and more focused. Good entry point for the Natural if you want a quicker read on the blend before committing to a DL-700.

DL-700 (6½×60) — The benchmark. Most consistent expression of the blend — room for the spice to build through three distinct phases over 60–75 minutes.

Chisel — Box-pressed with LFD’s signature wedge cap. Pinch flat to smoke. More focused draw than the round sizes, which concentrates the spice further.
