M81 Blackened by Drew Estate is a deep study into the Maduro leaf. A three way collaboration between Drew Estate's legendary founder, Jonathon Drew, and Metallica's co-founder and front man, James Hetfield and American Whiskey Master Distiller and Blender, Rob Dietrich.
Being described as bold, rich and powerful, the M81 Blackened by Drew Estate is still balanced and nuanced. Like a great song with the same chord progression throughout, the M81 utilizing 3 different Maduro leafs. Everything starts with a Mexican San Andres wrapper, followed by a Connecticut River Valley Broadleaf binder, and finally, both Nicaraguan Maduro and Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro fillers.
The M81 Blackened by Drew Estate contains a powerhouse of flavors including notes of leather, espresso and dark chocolate. This is definitely a medium + cigar, but remains balanced and not harsh at all. As the collaboration suggests, we'd recommend pairing the M81 with your favorite whiskey after a great meal!
