The Rocky Patel Sun Grown is one of Rocky's original 90-plus-rated value blends and a longtime staple. It's wrapped in a dark, oily Ecuadorian sun-grown Sumatra leaf aged five years and handmade in Honduras, and it was named Cigar Aficionado's Best Bargain Cigar of 2011 — bold, full flavor at an everyday price.

The five-year-aged Sumatra wrapper sits over a Nicaraguan binder, with Nicaraguan and Dominican long-filler aged about seven years. Sun-grown means the wrapper leaf grew in full sunlight rather than under shade, which makes it darker, oilier, and more flavorful. Handmade at the El Paraiso factory in Danlí, Honduras.

The profile opens bold, with white pepper and earth, then settles into baking spice, espresso, molasses, and sweet tobacco. Cedar, leather, and mocha come through later. It starts powerful and mellows as it burns, staying smooth and never harsh through the final third. Medium-full to full.
