RoMa Craft CroMagnon Pennsylvania

The RoMa Craft CroMagnon Pennsylvania is the reblended version of the company's first and most important line. CroMagnon launched in 2011 and built RoMa Craft's reputation for strength. In 2024 the company rebuilt it around a Pennsylvania broadleaf wrapper after the original Connecticut broadleaf became impossible to source at the quality and volume the line needed. White text on the band marks this new blend; the older gray-text version was the Connecticut original.

Under the Pennsylvania broadleaf sits an Ecuadorian Sumatra-hybrid binder over filler from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The Dominican leaf is new to the blend and a big part of why this version smokes differently. Where the first CroMagnon led with raw power, the Pennsylvania version runs medium-plus and trades some of that punch for balance.

Expect creamy cedar, charred meat, and dark chocolate, with black pepper and clove on the retrohale. Seven core sizes carry the line, rolled at Fábrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño in Estelí.

Choosing Your Size

Knuckle Dragger (4x52) — The short, fast way into the blend. A 30-40 minute petite robusto with all the flavor and none of the commitment.

Mode 5 (5x50) — The classic box-pressed perfecto shape and the size most people start with.

EMH (5x56) — Robusto extra with more wrapper presence. Richer and a touch stronger than the Mode 5.

Mandible (4.5x60) — Gordo ring gauge that opens up the filler. More smoke, more body.

Anthropology (5.75x46) — The most balanced size, wrapper and filler in even proportion.

Cranium (6x54) — The biggest core size. Longest burn and the fullest expression of the blend.
