San Cristobal Golden Hour

San Cristobal Golden Hour is the newest blend in Ashton's San Cristobal series and the fifth brand under that name. It started shipping to stores in the summer of 2026. The name points to the short window at sunrise or sunset when the light turns gold, the right time for a photograph, or a cigar.

Golden Hour is made by the Garcia family at My Father Cigars in Esteli, Nicaragua, the same factory behind every San Cristobal. The wrapper is a Cuban-seed Ecuadorian Habano in a rosado shade. Under it sits Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan filler pulled from four growing regions: Esteli, Jalapa, Condega, and Namanji, all grown on Garcia family farms. The tobacco runs through a triple fermentation before it is rolled with a traditional Cuban-style triple cap.

The profile is medium-full. Expect cedar, cinnamon, coffee bean, molasses, and a steady line of spice. It reads Cubanesque without the harshness, rich and layered but balanced from the first third through the finish. Four of the six sizes in the line are box-pressed. The two thickest, Ocaso and Pacifico, are round.

Choosing Your Size

Magico (5.5x50) - The shortest of the box-pressed sizes and the most concentrated. A 45-minute smoke that puts the cedar and coffee up front. A good entry point to the blend.

Bonito (6x52) - The classic toro proportion, box-pressed. Balanced draw and the fullest read on the cinnamon and molasses. The all-around pick.

Angelico (7x49) - The long, elegant churchill. The extra length stretches the smoke out and keeps it cool, letting the spice settle. For an unhurried hour.

Ocaso (6x60) - The round 60-ring. More filler in the bunch gives it a heavier, rounder body. Built for smokers who want the fullest expression.
