Why you should choose Renegade's Cigar Club.

Brandon Hayes

Brandon:
Hello. I'm here with Nate today. Nate actually works here at Renegade now, but he was one of the first people to sign up for our Cigar Subscription. And I just wanted to chat with him a little bit about why he signed up for the club and what the clubs meant for him. I was kind of surprised when Nate came to work here. Now he's got a massive humidor to select from, but he's still a member of the club. So Nate, tell us why you signed up for the club.

Nate:
Well, I mean, it's a really good value. And as someone that's really entry-level when it comes to cigars and only been cigar smoking for about going on a year now, so the first kind of order of business is kind of figuring out what you like and well, being from home, especially with COVID and stuff like that, going on, it's not necessarily always possible for you to get that curated experience right off the bat. So when you have access to someone like Brandon, who's got years and years of experience picking out cigars, allows you to kind of fine-tune what you're looking for. So you can make selections based off that. And it's still a great value at 40 bucks. I mean, you get four high-quality sticks that are around 10 bucks a piece and it still ends up shipped to your door. So you don't have to go back and forth. You don't have to pick it up in person or anything. It's four $10 sticks that you're still getting delivered right to you. So it's still a good value for it.

Brandon:
Awesome. Yeah, that was really the idea behind the club was to introduce people to new cigars they may not normally smoke. So for those of you that are not members, a little bit of about what we do. So one month we might do something, I try to change it up, keep it interesting. It might be four new cigars that I find interesting. The next month, it might be four classic cigars that I think everybody needs to try. And then, the next month it might be, I might do some type of theme. I might do a Nicaraguan cigar, a Dominican cigar, a Honduran cigar, and a Costa Rican cigar.

Brandon:
But one thing that, that Nate's done a good job at is he's come in and he said like, "We need to offer a little bit more. It's great that the guys get the cigars in the mail, but what can we add to the experience?" And I kind of think that everybody has this level of knowledge and people liked. If they want more knowledge, they're going to go out and research it. And Nate said like, "No, let's just take the friction away and let's deliver that right to them with the cigars." So briefly just tell us about kind of what you've implemented and you're why you want it as a consumer first.

Nate:
Right. And so I mean, I'm like I came from whiskey and wine to begin with. I mean, really been [inaudible 00:02:33] in what makes things difficult and finding what you really like about it. So if we can kind of condense that information into one place where instead of having to spend 15, 20 minutes Googling on each cigar, on which wrappers on which, and what the processes that goes into making a Maduro, for an example. And if we can kind of collapse that down into a brief handout so that right when you got your cigar selection, it tells you about those four different cigars that you're getting, the processes that goes into it, and why you might like it versus other ones. So it kind of stands out and kind of eliminates that searching process for you on Google.

Brandon:
Yeah. So that was really what we've done. I like to have somebody that, as a place, where they want to broaden their knowledge on cigars, and it was perfect that Nate came on when he did because he wanted to know more about wrappers. He wanted to know why I selected. He wanted to know maybe what pairs well with that cigar. So for those of you that are already members, you've probably noticed that it's becoming more of an education thing as much as it is just a, "Here's four cigars delivered to your door." And we continue to build on that and try to make it better each time, but the idea is just to put this together in one place where you're going to get four cigars, you're going to get some education on those cigars. You're going to get an understanding of as you smoke one, you like one more than another, maybe why you like it, you're going to start noticing trends, what rapper it has, what country of origin is from what strength it is. And then maybe what flavors I taste when I smoke that cigar.

Brandon:
So that's one thing that we try to include in that. But anyway, I hope it's a great value. I hope customers like it. You're still paying for it still. So I think that's a good sign. Appreciate you spend a couple minutes with us and explaining the Cigar of the Month club. I hope you guys sign up for it. I hope you enjoy it, and look for it to develop and get better with time.
